Dave Grohl's ex Tina Basich made damning comment about his infidelity years before baby drama

Tina Basich has spoken candidly about her relationship with Dave Grohl and claimed he cheated on her years before the rocker admitted to fathering a child outside his marriage .

The Foo Fighters frontman shocked fans as he revealed he has welcomed a daughter with another woman while married to his current wife, Jordyn Blum. Dave said he is working to regain the trust of his wife .

Years before the scandal, the rockstar's ex-girlfriend Tina wrote in her memoir about her pain after learning Dave was allegedly dating another woman at the same time. Tina and Dave dated for two years in the late '90s.

In her book, Pretty Good for a Girl: The Autobiography of a Snowboarding Pioneer, Tina said Dave was always busy with his music work and suggested the pressure was "too much for our relationship to handle". She explained: "You can only give up so much of your heart and your career and your time and your spirit, and here I was, giving it all up for a guy and losing myself in the process."

She then wrote about Dave's alleged infidelity. "I don’t know how anyone in his profession can have a normal relationship with a girlfriend…or two, as it turned out," Tina said.

She said she found out second-hand and admitted it felt like "everyone else in the world knew about it but me." She confessed to feeling "disappointed" in herself for "being sucked in" by Dave.

The professional snowboarder added: "Breakups suck. But Rockstar exits are the worst." Tina claimed they broke up in a five-minute phone call "after five weeks of me calling and trying to get ahold of him because I just had to know if these rumors were true."

Following the split, Tina admitted she couldn't stop thinking about Dave. She explained: "I went grocery shopping a few days after we broke up and heard the elevator-music version of 'Learn to Fly,' which gave me an instant stomachache, then saw him on the cover of Guitar magazine staring at me in the check-out line."

Dave admitted to cheating on his current wife in a post shared on Instagram. He wrote: "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness."

He then asked fans for privacy, adding: "We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together. Dave."
