This year’s ceremony is just around the corner, and history stands to be made once again as Taylor Swift has the potential to become the most-awarded artist ever. Here’s how you can tune in to make sure you don’t miss a moment of the 2024 VMAs.

Where Can I Watch the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards?

This year’s MTV Video Music Awards will air Wednesday (Sept. 11) at 8 p.m. Eastern at UBS Arena in New York City. You can catch the VMAs live on MTV Additionally, Paramount, which owns MTV, will simulcast the awards program on BET, BET Her, CMT, CC, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land and VH1.

Who Is Nominated?

Taylor Swift leads all nominees this year with 12. Collaborator Post Malone is close behind with 11 nods. Eminem received eight nominations following his 12th studio album The Death of Slim Shady. Host Megan Thee Stallion is tied with Ariana Grande, SZA and Sabrina Carpenter with seven apiece.

Who Is Performing?

Rap legend Eminem will kick off the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards Ceremony with his first televised performance from his latest album. The “Houdini” hitmaker joins a roster that includes Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, Lenny Kravitz, and more. Pop star Katy Perry will perform in addition to receiving this year’s Video Vanguard award.

Could We Witness History This Year?

It’s certainly possible. Taylor Swift currently trails all-time leader Beyoncé’s 25 victories by just two trophies. So if the “Fortnight” singer wins just three of the 10 categories she’s nominated in, Swift could overtake the “Texas Hold ‘Em” hitmaker as the most-awarded artist in the ceremony’s history. However, Beyoncé is also up for two special awards this year—most iconic performance, and best trending video for “Texas Hold ‘Em.”

Additionally, Eminem is currently deadlocked with Peter Gabriel for most-awarded solo male artist in show history. The “Lose Yourself” rapper could break that deadlock by winning just one of the eight trophies he’s nominated for.
