    Aldi and Publix: Opening 2 New Stores Each in Florida

    Two major grocery chains have announced intentions to open new stores in Florida in the near future. The Batavia, Illinois based Aldi will be opening 2 stores. The company with German roots opened its first US store in Iowa in 1976, they now have over 2400 stores nationwide.

    Here are the two new locations coming to the Sunshine State.

    The company has yet to set grand opening dates for the new stores.

    Florida-based Publix also has plans for two new stores in the state. The grocer, which operates in eight southern states, has over 800 locations in Florida—far more than in any other state where it operates.
