General Hospital’s Adam Huss Reflects On Nikolas Actors Who Came Before Him

Huss discussed the way one former Nikolas actor still inspires the character to this day.

In an interview with a fellow General Hospital star, Adam Huss discussed his experiences with the actors who played Nikolas before him, including the late Tyler Christopher.

Respect And Honor

On his debut episode of State of Mind, Huss shared with co-star Maurice Benard how he met the actors who played Nikolas before him. “I respect who I’m taking over for.”

The actor delved into his first run-in with Marcus Coloma, who Huss took over for in 2023. “I met Marcus while I was shooting because we overlapped. Felt terrible,” he admitted before referring to Coloma as “so kind.”

As for the late Tyler Christopher, who originated the role of Nikolas in 1994 and passed away in 2023, Huss had a cool story to tell. “I never got to meet Tyler officially,” he noted before telling the story of how a journalist they both knew got them on a phone call together a couple of months before Christopher’s passing.

Huss revealed his exact words to Christopher that day: “When I was a kid in the 90s, I saw you on covers, and I was like, ‘I want to be that guy.'” The actor also confessed to Christopher, “I’m honored that I get to step in your shoes, and I watch everything you do… not to mimic it, but to inspire.”

Becoming Nikolas

Despite never getting a chance to officially meet Christopher, Huss explained how the late actor is part of his process for getting into the mind of Nikolas.

After Benard mentioned how Christopher “couldn’t get out of his own way with liquor,” Huss explained, “I hold onto that when I step into those shoes. Every single time I get a script, I go into YouTube and start pulling up clips of him.”

After recently sending out a message of gratitude to his GH fans, Huss said this about the soap. “I love it so much. I love being in there.”
