Two juveniles have been detained after Mississippi officials discovered up to $50,000 in damages after multiple vehicles, including tractors, trucks, and antique equipment, were vandalized.

The Neshoba County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a significant vandalism incident Sunday morning on County Road 541.

Deputies discovered extensive damage focused primarily on broken glass, grease smeared across vehicles, and evidence that vandals had jumped on hoods and windshields. Before leaving the scene, the culprits threw vehicle ignition keys into nearby woods. Many of the damaged vehicles were antique and considered irreplaceable. Authorities estimated the total damages to be upwards of $50,000.

Veteran deputies with more than 50 years of combined experience noted they had never encountered such severe vandalism.

Within hours, deputies detained two juveniles after evidence led them to a nearby residence where one of the suspects was living. The second suspect was later apprehended for questioning.

Both juveniles are currently being held in a detention facility awaiting Youth Court intervention as the investigation continues.
