ESPN names the Tennessee Vols' biggest remaining recruiting need for their 2025 class

On Wednesday, ESPN named the biggest remaining need for each top 25 2025 recruiting class.

When it comes to the Tennessee Vols, ESPN thinks that running back is the program's biggest remaining need in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

From ESPN : The Vols did an outstanding job on the offensive line this cycle and kept in-state QB George MacIntyre at home. Working on their first top-10 class since 2015, the Vols are in good shape at this point. After signing ESPN 300 RB Peyton Lewis last cycle with well-rounded three-star Justin Baker committed for 2025, this isn't a glaring need for Tennessee, but the Vols could benefit from adding another back this cycle. If they continue to build on their strong start on the field, they could end up flipping someone such as three-star Daune Morris, an in-state prospect who is currently committed to USC.

So far under Josh Heupel, the Vols haven't signed a truly elite running back recruit. Cam Seldon, a four-star recruit during the 2023 recruiting cycle, is the highest rated running back that Heupel has signed. Seldon has the potential to be an elite player, but it's still somewhat surprising that we haven't seen Tennessee land a five-star running back yet -- especially considering how successful running backs have been in Heupel's offense.

It's not a necessity for for Tennessee to land a five-star running back, but it would sure be fun to see one playing in Heupel's explosive offense.
