6-Year-Old Girl Attended School For Hours In Shirt & Underwear, No Pants

A Georgia family is outraged after discovering a six-year-old girl walked around school without pants for hours.

Avishaye Daniels told WALB that her daughter, Aylah , went to school fully clothed last week but came home without her shorts on.

After contacting the school, the girl's parents learned she walked around school wearing only a T-shirt and underwear from noon until she left at roughly 3 p.m.

“How can you look over my 6-year-old daughter in just a T-shirt and panties, socks and shoes for three hours?” Daman Bell , Aylah’s dad, said.

Earlier that day, Aylah participated in the school's chalk party during which students' clothes got dirty. The girl had packed a shirt to change into, but Aylah said she forgot to put her shorts back on.

The six-year-old's teacher didn't realize she wasn't wearing any bottoms, Baker County Schools Principal Jeff Henderson said.

“We’ve never had this happen before,” he said. “Her shirt was long. It went almost to her knee, and she was not fully exposed or anything like that throughout the day,” Henderson added.

Police reviewed school surveillance footage to ensure nothing happened to Aylah while she didn't have pants on.

“We care about their concerns and the safety of our students. We learned from this. It’s a big learning experience for everyone that this took place. It was never intentional – no way, shape, form, this would ever happen,” Henderson said.

Aylah's parents are waiting to hear from police to review the school footage.
