Dodgers News: Teoscar Hernandez makes significant progress in recovery

Teoscar Hernandez is making strides toward a return to the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup just in time for the postseason. After suffering an injury to his left foot, Hernandez has begun taking batting practice, signaling a positive recovery. The Dodgers are set to face the Chicago Cubs, and there’s hope he could be back on the field for the second game of the series.

Initially, the outlook for Hernandez was concerning. The team feared he would be sidelined for an extended period, with management expressing worries about the severity of the injury despite negative X-ray results.

“Not great. He’s as tough as they come and could barely move his foot, so I don’t see how it’s not gonna be an IL,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said.

However, Hernandez's recent progress suggests he may not be out for long.

“I’m feeling better today. Not able to walk normally, but it’s way better than last night. MRI and CT scans were negative. Thank God, there was nothing broken. Just take the day off today. Take some activity tomorrow and see how it’s going. Maybe, Monday or Tuesday, I’ll get back on the field. I thought it was worse, honestly, when I got hit,” he declared.

The Dodgers have felt his absence, especially after recent losses to the Los Angeles Angels and Cleveland Guardians. With an impressive 86-win record, the team is eager to regain momentum and Hernandez's return could provide the boost they need.
