As it turns out, the Dolphins weren't just being careful with RB Raheem Mostert by keeping him out of the team's walk through on Tuesday.

According to head coach Mike McDaniel, Mostert won't play on Thursday night in the team's key divisional clash with the Buffalo Bills.

"Raheem, no.  De'Von (Achane), we'll see how it plays out today," McDaniel said during his Wednesday morning press conference .  "Thursday night games probably should be your triggering point, Barry, because (chuckles), I don't know.  You've got to realize, every day - today is, Wednesday, right?  Guys are just, typically - when we have padded practices, we don't even have them until Thursday, because typically after an NFL game, [on] Wednesday guys are still working through their ailments from the game previous.  So, there's several guys that we'll be feeling out and go from there."

Mostert is dealing with a chest issue, which is apparently severe enough to keep him on the sideline on Thursday night.  Achane is dealing with an ankle injury, which has him still in wait and see mode with the team.

Thursday night games do present a major challenge on the preparation and injury front obviously, as guys often do need that full week to get healthy enough to play.  We'll find out later today when the final injury report comes out whether Achane is able to make it back on the practice field.

Regardless, promising rookie RB Jaylen Wright will surely now be active on Thursday and make his NFL debut for the Dolphins.
