STEPHEN A. Smith couldn’t help but display his astonishment at his First Take colleague’s argument concerning Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott.

The fiery personality, 56, caused Molly Qerim to groan during the ESPN program.

ESPN NFL analyst Jeff Saturday appeared on First Take as he, Smith and Chris “Mad Dog” Russo discussed Prescott and the Cowboys’ Super Bowl chances with the quarterback at the helm.

Prescott signed a massive four-year contract extension before Dallas beat the Cleveland Browns in Week 1 of the season.

Saturday played in the NFL and spent 13 of his 14 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning as he mentioned that Prescott has dealt with the same issue that the NFL Hall of Famer signal-caller had faced early in his career – lack of postseason success.

Stephen A. immediately widened his eyes and yelled out, “What?!” before putting his hand on his heart and comically breathing hard at Saturday’s take.

“You’re comparing (Prescott) to Peyton Manning?” he asked Saturday.

Qerim could be heard yelling out Smith’s name and gasping, “Oh my gosh,” as Saturday continued to explain his opinion .

But Stephen A. wanted no part of Saturday’s comparison.

“The knock against him (Manning) was that he couldn’t beat (Tom) Brady! This man was running the offense,” Smith said.

“He was calling his own plays… We were like anytime you run into Bill Belichick and Tom Brady you going to fall! I’m not saying they didn’t say those things about him but that was the prevalent issue.

“ Dak Prescott was never given the responsibility, am I lying about that Jeff?”

Saturday believed Prescott had a similar responsibility last season to Manning’s control over his team’s offense.

Smith disagreed, saying, “The responsibility that was on Dak Prescott’s shoulders doesn’t come remotely close to the responsibility that was on Peyton Manning’s shoulders!

“Y’all got to be kidding me! Y’all can’t say this on national television ! You can’t do this, you can’t!”

Manning helped his playoff reputation by winning two Super Bowls , one with the Colts and the other in his last season in the NFL with the Denver Broncos .

The current ESPN star broadcaster is considered one of the best quarterbacks of all time.

As for Prescott, he is looking to reach the NFC Championship game for the first time in his career.

Prescott has made the Pro Bowl three times and is coming off a career year in 2023, recording 36 passing touchdowns and nine interceptions.

But he has a 2-5 playoff record and has 14 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in his first eight seasons in the NFL.

In his first eight years in the league, Manning was 3-6 and posted 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Fortunately for him, he won his first Super Bowl in his ninth season in the NFL in the 2006-07 season.

Prescott and the Cowboys will look to go 2-0 for the season as they host the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.

Dak can't hold Peyton Manning's jock. He simply does NOT win playoff against good teams. If he wins the Super Bowl I'll give him props. 🏈
