    States Attorneys call for U.S. surgeon general warning for social media

    States attorneys from Illinois and 40 other states are prodding Congress to require a U.S. surgeon general warning for young people on social media platforms. The group is urging action amid heightened concern about how algorithms on social media can affect mental health, including depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. According to the Pew Research Center, 95% of youth ages 13 to 17 reported using social media.

    Sheriff’s officer won't survive injuries after chase

    A Northwest Indiana sheriff’s officer shot in the line of duty in Illinois earlier this month will not survive his injuries. The sheriff’s office said on Tuesday that Corporal Brandon Schreiber, shot on Sept. 1 while pursuing a suspect across the Illinois border in Sheldon, will not survive. According to Illinois State Police, preliminary reports showed that officers from the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office were engaged in a pursuit of an armed suspect with a hostage. After the Newton County Sheriff’s Office joined in, the chase came back to Illinois and led to a shootout. The suspect was killed.

    Springfield reverses course on public camping ban

    The city of Springfield has reversed an effort to allow police to fine and eventually arrest people for camping in public. An ordinance filed by Mayor Misty Buscher to set up public camping fines was withdrawn from consideration. Heartland Housed, a Springfield group that advocates for the homeless, commended the mayor and looked forward to more conversation on the subject.

    A new way to brainwash. Bad enough government, cities, counties, companies illegally abuse with technology. Fake news, radio frequency, music etc. stop the use of AI shit. How about sticking to anything AI that cannot use voice, read thoughts or memorize passwords and fingerprints etc..
