    Excessive Speed Blamed for Death in Early Morning Crash

    HARRISONBURG, Va. – Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a Monday morning crash that claimed the life of a Harrisonburg man.

    According to an emailed media release from VSP Sergeant Brent W. Coffey, the incident occurred September 9, 2024.

    At approximately 7:47 a.m., a 2003 Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound on Kratzer Road at a high rate of speed.

    When it attempted to pass another northbound vehicle near the road’s 2000 block, the motorcycle crossed a double solid yellow centerline, ran off the left side of the roadway, and collided with a utility pole.

    The rider, Jacobo E. Wilson, 34, died at the scene.

    Even when you are obeying all the rules and taking great care of, the two wheeler can be harmed in so many ways. Sorry to learn that this rider pushed himself out of his safety envelope.
