    Strawberry Bliss Drizzle Thumbprints

    Ingredients

    For the Cookies:

    • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
    • ½ cup sugar
    • 1 large egg yolk
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • ¼ tsp salt
    • ¼ cup strawberry jam (or any jam of your choice)

    For the Creamy Sweet Drizzle:

    • ½ cup powdered sugar
    • 1 tbsp milk or heavy cream (adjust for consistency)
    • ¼ tsp vanilla extract

    Instructions

    For the Cookies:

    1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Set aside.
    3. Cream the butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
    4. Add egg yolk and vanilla: Mix in the egg yolk and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
    5. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
    6. Shape the cookies: Roll dough into 1-inch balls (about a tablespoon each) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
    7. Create thumbprints: Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to gently press a well into the center of each cookie. Be careful not to press too deeply.
    8. Fill with jam: Spoon about ½ teaspoon of strawberry jam into each thumbprint.
    9. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

    For the Creamy Sweet Drizzle:

    1. Make the drizzle: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk (or heavy cream), and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust with a little more milk if needed to reach a drizzle-worthy consistency.
