Campbell's Soup will become just Campbell's

Once upon a time in Virginia Campbell's Soup was the major brand in many homes. Baby Boomers grew up watching the Campbell's Kids television commercial where they sang "Mmm good, mmm good that's what Campbell's Soups are mmm mmm good."

Most Virginians are used to saying "Campbell Soup Company" for practically all of their lives but that is about to change. The Roanoke Times reports that after 155 years Campbell is dropping "soup" from it's name.

More consumers are reaching for snacks and ditching ready-to-serve soups, and the company has bought up other food lines to grab them. Campbell now owns snack brands like Goldfish, Snyder’s of Hanover, Cape Cod, Pepperidge Farm and others.

The name change is a big deal for older Virginians who have said it the same way for five, six, or seven generations but we will have to adapt.
