Millennials will certainly remember when Plaxico Burress was a star receiver for the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers. The 2007 Super Bowl champion was one of the best possession receivers in the NFL, playing 10 years for two historic franchises before ending his career with the Jets in 2012.

Now, Elijah Burress is looking to carve out his own legacy. The 3-star 2025 receiver prospect is committed to Notre Dame, but the Michigan State Spartans are " working to flip " Burress. Here's the latest.

Can Michigan State Flip Elijah Burress from Notre Dame?

The Spartans are already after one former NFL legacy in Noah Sanders, son of Barry Sanders, but can they pry Elijah Burress from Notre Dame?

The Spartans are looking to bring Burress on campus this fall. Although the 6-foot-1, 170-pounder from New Jersey committed to the Irish back in February, he has only 11 offers right now. The Irish are easily the biggest program to have offered him yet.

The Spartans could really disrupt Marcus Freeman's game plan. They can offer a quicker path to playing time as Jonathan Smith rebuilds the program. Burress, one of two New Jersey receivers averaging 100 yards a game alongside Ohio State's Quincy Porter , could be an early impact talent.

Can the Spartans pull off the recruiting upset, or will Notre Dame stave off the rising interest in Burress? We'll continue to track the updates here.
