Melissa Gorga Reacts to ‘Crazy and Genius’ RHONJ Leaks: Castmates ‘Egging On’ the Trolls

Melissa Gorga spoke out once again about the Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 leaks. For those who missed these leaks when they happened, here’s a refresher.

During RHONJ Season 14’s run, certain cast members leaked episode screeners and behind-the-scenes info to social media accounts and bloggers (not us, please). These screeners incentivized these internet users to promote certain narratives about the show.

In particular, they were asked to trash-talk certain RHONJ cast members. Fans and outlets primarily accused Teresa Giudice and Jennifer Aydin of leaking stories. Recently, Melissa shared some further reflections on the whole ordeal.

Melissa Gorga accuses leakers of trying to produce the show

Melissa recently appeared on the September 11 episode of No Filter With Zack Peter. While there, she discussed “how our castmates were talking to bloggers and giving them screeners.” She called such actions “crazy and genius,” comparing the strategy to that of a “mastermind.” It was the behavior of someone who was “really trying to win,” according to Mel.

“When you have cast members that are then egging on [bloggers], and personally calling them on the phone? Now you have your favorite reality star ringing your phone. Then you’re gonna amp it up, I think, and take it to the next level, and really make some of the other cast members as miserable … as possible.” Indeed, cast members took advantage of their fans.

As such, Melissa said Bravo had to step in at that point. She then explained that, since prominent social media users were going so hard against certain cast members, it didn’t take long to figure out they must’ve been on someone’s payroll. “When cast members go that far, and they’re living and breathing the show … maybe it’s time to like, take a break.”

Melissa argued that better reality TV came from a lack of investment in the cameras. Ergo, true reality. “Living your life, speaking your truth.” Melissa then compared the leakers to wannabe show producers, trying to orchestrate everything in their own way.
