There has been a lot of talk surrounding A'ja Wilson ahead of the Las Vegas Aces' highly-anticipated showdown against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Wednesday, September 11. This is after the WNBA MVP frontrunner sat out on Sunday, September 8, in Las Vegas' 75-71 loss against the New York Liberty due to a leg injury.

The good news for Aces fans is that Wilson will play on Wednesday against the Fever. Las Vegas entered the game with a clean injury report, which indicated that their star center had already overcome the injury that kept her on the sidelines for Sunday's defeat -- or at least to the extent that she will be able to suit up against Clark and Co.

Just before the game, Las Vegas head coach Becky Hammon spoke to the press, and she was asked if Wilson would be on some sort of minutes limit. Hammon hinted at the same as she revealed Wilson's message ahead of the much-awaited clash.

"I'll be watching her, but she says she's good," Hammon said, via Aces reporter Callie Lawson-Freeman of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

You just know that Wilson wasn't going to miss this one, especially with the prospect of facing Caitlin Clark looming. The Fever rookie has all of a sudden burst into the MVP conversation amid a sensational run (she's won three straight Eastern Conference Player of the Week awards), and A'ja will be looking to make a statement here as she aims to bag what will be her third MVP title this season.

More importantly, both teams are still fighting for positioning in the WNBA Playoff picture and it goes without saying that the result of Wednesday's game will have a significant impact.

The Aces are currently fourth with a 22-13 record but are just one game ahead of the fifth-seeded Seattle Storm. The Fever, on the other hand, are sixth with a 19-17 record, and are looking to improve on their two-game lead over the seventh-placed Phoenix Mercury.

After Wednesday's contest, Las Vegas will have just four games left in the regular season, while Indiana plays just three more times before the playoffs officially get underway.

We have all these players and media searching for a controversy. It’s clear they have no idea how to get out of the way and let this success quadruple. Every time she breaks a record the next she didn’t or hasn’t done this or that. This mess is headed for a big time crash
