An assailant reportedly attempted to break into Reggie Bush’s Los Angeles-area home but was quickly thwarted by the former USC star.

A window was smashed during the invasion of Bush’s Encino home, but the former running back “immediately yelled” and the suspect(s) fled the scene on Tuesday night, according to TMZ .

Police arrived at the scene and discovered the broken window near the back of Bush’s house which he purchased for $5.65 million in 2019, the report said.

Nobody was injured and it was not immediately clear if anything was stolen from the house.

Bush’s house is reportedly gated and came with ample surveillance cameras and a security system when he bought it.

Reggie Bush is finally getting his Heisman Trophy back

Bush did not respond to a request for comment from the outlet.

Bush, 39, starred at USC and won the Heisman trophy in 2005, after which there was a long saga where it was taken away because he received impermissible benefits from a booster, and finally returned earlier this year now that college athletes are all allowed to partake in NIL benefits .

“Recognizing that the compensation of student athletes is an accepted practice and appears here to stay, these fundamental changes in college athletics led the Trust to decide that now is the right time to return the Trophy to Bush, who unquestionably was the most outstanding college football player of 2005,” the Heisman Trust said in a statement.

He later played for the Dolphins, Lions, 49ers and Bills.

After his NFL retirement, Bush was a part of Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff” college football pregame show but left the program before last season .

Bush married his wife Lilit in 2014 and they have three children.
