Urban Meyer Names Team That Didn't 'Look the Part' In Week 2 of College Football

In a game that was expected to be a clash of college football's titans, the No. 3 Texas Longhorns marched into Ann Arbor and throttled the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines.

The Longhorns left with a 19-point victory and jumped to No. 2 in the latest AP Poll , while Michigan has been put on fraud alert. It's not shocking that a team that lost as much talent as they did to the NFL isn't the same team after a title run, but it feels fair to say that most fans and analysts walked away from that game questioning how good the Wolverines can be.

One person in particular who had a fairly blunt assessment was former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer. On a recent episode of "The Triple Option" podcast, Meyer revealed that Michigan was brought back down to earth in their loss.

"I'll tell ya a harsh reality just marched right in the Big House," Meyer told Alabama legend Mark Ingram. "We all witnessed it. We saw it...You know you lose 18 starters. You lose 13 players to the NFL draft. One of the top pro teams. Last year's team was one of the last great teams."

Meyer continued, explaining that they didn't look good enough and that he also agreed with Ingram's take that they could end up being an 8-4 team or worse.

"You just wonder what in the world," Meyer said. "They didn't look the part. They didn't play the part. This could be...unless they get things figured out real fast, this could be, I think Mark [Ingram] hit it on the spot or even one more."

The Wolverines will have a game to bounce back with against Arkansas State this weekend, but will then jump right into Big Ten action against one of the hottest teams in the country in No. 11 USC. In total, they have three more games against ranked opponents, all of which are top 15 teams.

They are still in the process of forming their identity on offense, as they rank No. 120 in total offense, and have yet to show they can be effective on the ground or in the air.

If they don't figure out what their bread-and-butter is quick, they could very well end up like the TCU team that they beat two years ago in the playoff, which went from playoff contender to sub .500 the next year.
