Jon Bon Jovi Rushes to Aid Stranger in Crisis on Tennessee Bridge

Jon Bon Jovi is giving new meaning to his song lyrics: "Take my hand and we'll make it I swear."

The 62-year-old rocker appeared to have convinced a woman to do just that as he walked by while she was standing on the ledge of a pedestrian bridge in Nashville, Tenn., reportedly intending to jump to her death.

The moment was caught on camera, as seen in a YouTube video shared by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, which showed the "You Give Love a Bad Name" singer approaching the woman and speaking to her before eventually helping her to climb back over the railing to safety.

According to TMZ , Bon Jovi was filming the music video for his song "People's House" on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge on Tuesday, Sept. 10, when he noticed the woman and approached her.

Local law enforcement officers later issued a "shoutout" to Bon Jovi and the rest of his team who helped out in the situation.

"Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety," the message on X (formerly Twitter) explained. Metro Police Chief John Drake , noted in a separate post that "It takes all of us to help keep each other safe."

Fans of the "Living' on a Prayer" singer were quick to applaud him for the heroic act, including one user on YouTube who claimed to be "floored" over the situation.

"Total respect for Jon," that same user continued, adding, "What a great human being."

"Respect to Bon Jovi," someone else chimed in, while another said, "Jon Bon Jovi has always been my absolute favorite! Now I have just one more reason to love him!"
