WNBA Sends Strong Message To Caitlin Clark As She Nears Major Record

Caitlin Clark is closing in on yet another WNBA record, and the league is doing its part to build anticipation.

The Indiana Fever rookie has already set a series of league records, including the most assists in a single game (22) and the first WNBA rookie to record a triple-double -- then added to that record when she notched a second triple-double.

Clark is closing in on another big record, sitting 11 assists away from breaking the all-time single-season record held by Alyssa Thomas. Clark is averaging 8.5 assists per game, putting her on pace to set the record in her team's game on Friday, September 13.

The WNBA is adding to the hype, sharing a post on Wednesday that noted Clark and MVP frontrunner A'Ja Wilson are both nearing big records and could set them in the same night.
