Chiefs' Andy Reid Details Differences From Year 1 To Year 2 For Rashee Rice

The Kansas City Chiefs got their season off to a winning start against the Baltimore Ravens and second-year receiver Rashee Rice was a big reason why.

After a rookie campaign in which Rice totaled 938 yards and seven touchdowns from 79 receptions, Rashee started his second season with a bang against Baltimore.

Rice would have 103 yards from seven receptions as he led all players in that category back on Thursday night in what was a statement from No. 4.

"He was more comfortable than he was last year," head coach Andy Reid said of Rice. " Makes sense, having had the reps and the experience. But the one thing he does well is he catches it and gets himself upfield, and he's a good, consistent catcher, works himself upfield, is tough, plays physical. Same time, he's a willing blocker, he's really developing his whole game in all areas. He'll keep growing."

While much of the offseason has been dominated by the arrivals of Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy, perhaps some have forgotten about Rice.

While yes, his off-field incident made headlines for all the wrong reasons, but against the Ravens, it was his play on the field that has people talking.

Patrick Mahomes looked his way often in the 27-20 win, and we don't expect that to change too much going forward with the pair developing a nice chemistry in such a short period.

The Cincinnati Bengals are up next for the Chiefs, and if Lou Anarumo (Bengals defensive coordinator) intends to slow down Reid's offense, containing Rice is job No. 1.

But that's easier said than done.
