However, Burrow’s performance in Cincinnati’s 16-10 loss was far from vintage.

He went 21 of 29 for 164 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions while adding another 15 yards rushing.

Since the loss, Burrow has been subject to speculation on social media questioning the condition of his wrist, after he was spotted on CBS’ broadcast flexing it in between plays.

Another clip from the game that troubled fans involved Burrow seated on the bench, awkwardly picking up a bottle of water from the floor after messing with his wrist once more.

This left fans worried on X , with one commenting “This doesn’t look good” as a second felt his actions were “Concerning.”

Asked about the viral clip on Wednesday, Burrow couldn’t help but laugh as he explained, “I don’t know, I drank water. I can’t say I’ve seen that or know what anybody’s talking about.”

Not all fans were convinced by Burrow’s nonchalant response though.

“Why [did] he turn so red answering that question?” one X user asked.

“I still feel like he’s hiding something,” said a second.

“Bro literally just picked up his water bottle, and Twitter doctors are breaking down the clip frame by frame,” a third added.

“The hair is a bigger issue than the water bottle. Sheesh Joe,” joked a fourth in reference to his frosted tips.

As for his wrist flexing, Burrow said this was simply part of his routine to maintain his flexibility as he continues to recover.

“I’m doing that all the time,” he said.

“When you’re coming back from an injury you’re always trying to keep the joint loose.

“That’s part of ligament injuries, if you don’t move it, you’re gonna lose it.”

Burrow will be back in action on Sunday when the Bengals head to Missouri to take on the reigning Super Bowl champions – the Kansas City Chiefs .

The Chiefs kicked off their pursuit of the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat with a 27-20 win against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5.

Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a mixed start to the season, going 20 of 28 for 291 yards, with one touchdown, and one interception.

Should the Bengals lose, it would mark their third consecutive 0-2 start to a season.

The Bengals at the Chiefs is scheduled to kick off at 4:25pm ET on CS.

It will also be available to watch on subscription-based platforms Fubo, NFL +, Paramount+, Sunday Ticket, and YouTube TV.
