Gracen Halton is grateful for the win but knows there’s still work to be done on defense

It wasn’t the prettiest win but Oklahoma beat Houston 16-12 on Saturday. Gracen Halton had two tackles including one for loss and one sack.

Gracen spoke to the media this week about improvements the defense can make and how it feels to be named SEC defensive lineman of the week.

What do you feel are some of the areas where this defense can grow and get better right now?

Gracen: I feel like it’s always all areas that you can get better. All aspects, run game, pass game, just need to get better at closing the quarterback.

What does it mean to you to be named the SEC defensive lineman of the week?

Gracen: Just to get that honor, oh yeah, it means a lot. You’ve just got to keep on going, it’s definitely motivation. I just got to keep stacking days.

Does it feel like you’re finally getting some publicity for all the work you’ve put in?

Gracen: Yeah. Just being patient really, that’s what it was. But now I just can’t stop. I’ve gotta keep on going but just enjoy the moment. Just keep rolling.
