Awards shows are old hat for Taylor Swift by now. The pop star won her first Moonperson trophy in 2009 for the “You Belong With Me” video. Still, despite becoming arguably the most famous person in the world, Swift is never too good for a good time. At every televised black-tie event, viewers scan the crowd to catch a glimpse of the “Fortnight” singer enjoying herself. On Wednesday (Sept. 11), Swift once again charmed social media when she danced to Katy Perry.

Taylor Swift Is Having the Time of Her Life

Katy Perry celebrated her MTV Vanguard Video Award with a gravity-defying performance of her greatest hits. It was exactly the kind of colorful, maximalist performance the “E.T.” singer is known for. And Taylor Swift just couldn’t help dancing along.

Videos of the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” singer quickly began circulating social media. “She dances like nobody is watching,” wrote one X/Twitter user.

“Taylor Swift dancing to Teenage dream was literally me over here when it came on,” another X/Twitter user added.

Earlier in the night, cameras caught Swift shimmying alongside Karol G as the Columbian star performed her hit “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido.”

Also, catch her grooving to Eminem’s opening performance.

Katy Perry Returns to The Stage

Frankly, we were all Taylor Swift when Katy Perry took the stage. The “Part Of Me” singer has been conspicuously absent from live performing for the last seven years.

In 2018, Perry joined Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie on the judging panel of the newly rebooted American Idol series on ABC. That began a near decade-long hiatus from the stage—until now.

“Katy is a musical powerhouse and true pop culture icon,” Bruce Gillmer, Paramount’s president of music, music talent, programming and events and Paramount+’s chief content officer for music, said in a statement.
