Southern California is in for a significant cool-down over the next several days, with temperatures expected to drop 10 to 20 degrees below normal by early next week. The National Weather Service reports that the cooling trend will be accompanied by gusty west to north winds, particularly in higher terrain areas. Wind Advisories are in effect for the Interstate-5 Corridor, Antelope Valley, Ventura County Mountains, and Santa Barbara County Mountains, with gusts reaching up to 55 mph in some areas.

By Thursday, widespread high temperatures will drop into the 70s and 80s, with cooler conditions along the coast. Winds will gradually decrease by Friday, but weak Sundowner winds may persist. The marine layer will deepen, bringing coastal low clouds, fog, and even patchy drizzle during the night and morning hours. Cooler temperatures and chances of light showers are anticipated Sunday into Monday as another weather system approaches the region.
