Man injured in northwest Des Moines shooting, DMPD investigates

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is investigating after a man was reportedly shot on the northwest side of Des Moines.

According to a DMPD post on X , at around 7:40 p.m. police were notified that a man had arrived by private vehicle at a local hospital. They then responded to 19th Street and College Avenue where evidence believed to be connected to the shooting was found.

The adult male victim is reported to have non-life threatening injures and is receiving treatment.

DMPD says there is no indication of danger to the neighborhood. Please expect police presence in the surrounding area as the investigation continues.
