This article is based on corporate postings and accredited media reports. All linked information within this article is fully-attributed to the following outlets: ScrapeHero.com and The-Sun.com.

    Introduction

Another Florida Publix market is permanently closing, only to be rebuilt from the ground-up.

Firstly, for perspective per ScrapeHero.com’s most recently-updated location count of the Publix grocery store chain: There are 1,425 Publix stores in the United States as of August 26, 2024. The state and territory with the most number of Publix locations in the US is Florida, with 890 stores, which is about 62% of all Publix stores in the US.

It should be noted that national number has increased by some 25-plus locations from this point last year, reflecting the company's continued expansion.

    Let us explore.

    Publix, 2024

According to a September 11th report from The-Sun.com, the latest location to be rebuilt from the ground-up is a 50-year-old store in Jacksonville.

From the report: Located in Jacksonville, Florida, about a two-hour drive from Orlando, the store will leave Deerwood Village shopping center on October 5... The store will reportedly be torn down after its closure and a new Publix location will be built in its place.

Publix spokesperson Hannah Herring said there was no timeline for either the new entity's construction completion or opening.

Per the company’s store locator, 22 Florida locations in full are listed on the company website as “Coming Soon," inclusive of the replacement Jacksonville location, though scant opening dates have been officially released.

    Conclusion

The ambitious tearing down and rebuilding of old Florida-based Publix company stores is a developing story. In the event of pertinent updates to this matter, inclusive of announced timeline and opening logistics of the replacement Jacksonville Publix location, I will share them here on NewsBreak.

    Thank you for reading.

Just make sure you keep the wonderful old weight scales Publix are famous for. The new ones don't have them, as the company went out of business.

They price gouge the public and this is what they are doing with the money. They purchased seven shopping centers last week.
