Childhood Cancer Awareness Month continues to gain the representation it deserves throughout the MLB and all 30 Clubs. One team in particular went above and beyond to shine some light in the lives of children within the community.

The Los Angeles Dodgers brought patients from UCLA Health down to Dodger Stadium to hang out with a few players. Their "hometown heroes" were also wearing t-shirts that were designed by the children.

The children were on the field for the national anthem, as well as during line-ups. UCLA Health also worked with the MLB to provide magnificent new headshots for the ball players, courtesy of the children, of course.

Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani were just a few of the players interacting with the kids. Freeman, especially, has shown great appreciation for the local hospitals and healthcare workers in Los Angeles. Earlier in the season, Freeman's family faced a health scare involving their young son, Max. Freeman has expressed his endless admiration and gratitude for all those that were involved in helping his son.

The MLB has given plenty of attention to the fact that the game is about more than baseball. All 30 Clubs have participated in raising awareness during this month, and each team honors the children in their hometowns in different ways.

MLB Together works hard to show representation throughout the community, and their quest to provide all they can to children fighting cancer has proven effective. Even if the only lives touched are the children's, the organization stands fast on their platform to spread happiness and awareness. This is the MLB's ninth consecutive year working with various organizations against childhood cancer.
