Kyler Murray's Response To Not Throwing The Ball To Marvin Harrison Jr. Will Leave You Speechless

The Arizona Cardinals have struggled historically in the NFL. The Cardinals are one of 12 NFL franchises that have never won a Super Bowl. One of the primary reasons for the Cardinals' struggles has been inconsistent play from the quarterback position. While they found some success with the likes of Kurt Warner and Carson Palmer in the past, the Cardinals believe they possess a franchise QB in Kyler Murray.

Murray was the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and despite his small stature, many believed he would succeed in the NFL. After finishing with an 11-6 record in 2021, and making the playoffs for the first time in his career, Murray found himself on the precipice of a lucrative contract extension. And in 2022, that extension came to fruition to the tune of 5 years, $230.5 million.

This was the moment the Cardinals expected Murray to become their franchise QB and leader in the locker room. To put it nicely, the Kyler Murray experience hasn't exactly gone the way they'd planned. Fast forward to Tuesday when Murray gave a shocking answer to reporters on why he did not throw the ball to Marvin Harrison Jr. during their Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills. This will leave you speechless:

Wow!! According to Murray, getting the ball to Harrison Jr. is "not his job". The pace of play in the NFL is extremely fast, and sometimes QBs miss open receivers, but Murray missed a WIDE OPEN Harrison Jr. in the fourth quarter on Sunday, on a play that could have been a potential game-winning touchdown. Also, Murray targeted Harrison Jr. just three times on Sunday.

Harrison Jr., a three-year standout at The Ohio State University, was drafted fourth overall in this year's draft. He has been projected by many NFL scouts as a "can't miss" receiver. Someone should provide Kyler Murray with that information.

If the Cardinals plan to win more than four games this season (their win totals from each of the past two seasons), Murray may want to start throwing the ball to Harrison Jr. more than three times per game.
