    It’s nearly time to head back to Middle-earth for another episode of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 2.

    The epic Tolkien adaptation takes place at least 4,959 years before the events of the original “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. In it, we learn how Sauron managed to trick the denizens of Middle-earth into taking his rings of power.

    Will ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ come back for Season 3?

    Amazon has not renewed “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” for Season 3 yet, but showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay told Empire that they’ve fully plotted out a five-season arc for the series and when Amazon initially bought the rights to the series and the universe, they bought the rights for a 50-hour series.
