Builder Of Pricey Apartments Buys Property Adjacent To FL Publix For $16.5 Million & 279 Apartments

Floridians know that development in Florida rarely stops. Due to a growing population, more housing, retail, and office spaces are arguably needed. And it's becoming more common for apartments to be built next to grocers. I've written about the Publix-anchored Shoppes at Orange Blossom, which is expected to have apartments and medical buildings near Publix. I've also covered a Sprouts in the Skyway Marina District, which will reportedly have 2,000 apartments. And now, 279 apartments in Boca Raton may be going up adjacent to a Publix.

About The Publix at Northlake Promenade Shoppes: This Publix located at 374 Northlake Boulevard has been reviewed over 1,300 times on Google reviews and earns 4.4 out of 5 stars. Reviewers seem to have mixed perceptions about this Publix location. For example, a reviewer named Richard wrote:

"My man in the bakery was making the whole place smell amazing. When I called him out, he offered me one of those amazing-smelling cookies! Only at Publix!"

However, a reviewer named Mason wrote, in part:

"I usually do not do reviews. but this is literally the worst Publix I’ve been to. Staff are...very rude or...work very slow."

The Planned Adjacent Apartments: Avalon Northlake LLC. has purchased 9.05 mostly vacant acres on the west side of the Publix mentioned above for $16.5 million. 279 apartments are reportedly planned.

Other Avalon Communities in the area have apartments renting from around $1,810 for a studio to $3,375 for a three-bedroom.

The planned Publix-adjacent apartments are a few blocks from the Intracoastal Waterway so some apartments could have water views.
