PlayStation owners grab 16 free games this month including two new releases

IT’S a bumper month for PlayStation subscribers, with a huge stack of 16 games that people can pick up for free.

What makes September extra special is that there are two newly released games on the list, and PS Plus members can play them as soon as they launch.

Three games, including one of the new releases, are already available and can be picked up by anyone who is subscribed to PlayStation Plus regardless of their subscription tier.

The new game is Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, but users can also pick up the excellent Little Nightmares 2, and the latest MLB: The Show.

For PS Plus Extra subscribers there are nine games available, including another new release, though this one is exclusive to PS5 owners.

The Plucky Squire will be available on launch, and is a charming action-adventure puzzler that switches between 2D and 3D.

Other highlights include the critically acclaimed Night in the Woods, and the popular Far Cry 5.

There are an additional four games available for PS Plus Premium subscribers, though one of these is exclusive to PS VR2.

Pistol Whip is a VR first-person shooter that adds immersion to its fights, but requires the expensive PS VR2 headset in order to play.

Those who don’t own a VR headset can still enjoy a spin-off from the Ratchet & Clank series, and well as the cult classic hit Mr Moskeeto.

Mr Moskeeto was one of the most obscure cameos in the recently released and critically acclaimed PS5 exclusive Astro Bot, so now more people can see where the reference comes from.

The following games are already available to subscribers of every tier of the service:

PS Plus Premium

The following games will also be added on September 17, 2024, but are only available to PS Plus Premium subscribers:

• Secret Agent Clank
• Sky Gunner
• Mr Moskeeto
