The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has released a video showing the moment Jon Bon Jovi saved a woman from taking her own life .

The 62-year-old rock legend had been filming the music video for his song People's House on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville, Tennessee , when he stopped filming to help the woman. The moment was captured on video, with the clip now being shared by cops.

Taking to X , the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department wrote: "A shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night. Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety."

Police Chief John Drake added: "It takes all of us to help keep each other safe." The singer's fans have praised him for his kind actions.

"Jon Bon Jovi greatest rock star in the world and now hero," one person wrote. Another said: "This moved me to tears. In a time of such division and hardship, I can truly feel the love in his actions. Well done, @jonbonjovi. A beautiful example of empathy and kindness."

A third fan claimed: "After that he came and sang for patrons at his club. He made a local band’s day by singing with them."

One source told TMZ Jon "routinely deals with people in crisis from hunger to homelessness, among other issues, through his work with his foundation, the JBJ SOUL FOUNDATION." They said he has received "extensive training" speaking to individuals in crisis.

The source added: "He did what anyone would have done in that situation." After speaking to the woman, Jon helped to pull her over the side of the railing, with help from another bystander.

The Nashville Fire Department and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department both responded to the incident. Jon is yet to speak out on what happened.

It's been a busy time for the singer thanks to his busy work schedule as he prepares to release his highly-anticipated new music. He did, however, recently take time out for a huge family celebration as his son Jake Bongiovi tied the knot with Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown in a secret ceremony in May.
