Xbox Game Pass subscribers warned of upcoming change that loses them access to more than 40 titles

XBOX Game Pass Standard is finally here, and alongside it, a huge number of games are being removed from players’ libraries.

From September 18, 2024, Xbox Game Pass for Console subscribers are having their rolling subscriptions automatically switched over to Xbox Game Pass Standard.

People can no longer purchase Game Pass for Console subscriptions and once their current membership runs out, they’ll have to either change to Standard or upgrade to Ultimate.

Fans are furious about the change, as console players will lose access to more than 40 recent releases.

Not only does the list of games include releases from the last 12 months but some older big titles like Diablo 4 are also on the chopping block.

Other big games, like Starfield, Hellblade 2, Kunitsu-gami, Persona 3 Reload, and Valorant, will also be leaving.

Xbox has said that these releases could be added to the Standard plan eventually, but that it will likely be more than 12 months later.

However, the company has also said that some titles will likely never make the switch.

While Standard no longer includes these 43 games, it does include online play. But those who enjoy single-player adventures are losing out big in the change.

Standard is more expensive than the Console tier, increasing in price from £8.99/$10.99 to £10.99/$14.99.

Those who enjoy recent releases will have to upgrade to the Ultimate tier, which now costs a whopping £14.99/$19.99.
