Couldn't Go Outside With Your Dogs? Make Them Exercise Indoors With Fun Activities!

Who says that dogs cannot be kept indoors and still they’d be active? Well, it's a total myth that if the dogs stay indoors, they will become lazy and inactive. If you, as a dog parent, are willing to do whatever it takes to keep your dog active, then you must follow some exercises that will keep your dog active and excited the entire day.

Even though ideally dog parents must take their furry buddies to walk outside and play with them, sometimes due to bad weather or limited areas or due to any reason if you cannot take them out then you must make sure your dogs are having the best times of their lives indoors. You can always keep your dog’s health in check with various indoor exercises.

Run with Your Dog Up and Down the Stairs

Well, this is one of the simplest exercises to do, which will be fun for your furry buddy and also keep them physically healthy. Run up and down the stairs of your house; this will keep your dog excited and they will love playing with you. But remember one thing: this exercise has some drawbacks for sick dogs and elderly dogs so make sure you do not make them do this exercise. A healthy and young dog will do this easily and with lots of fun.

Puzzle Treats and Toys are Best for Indoor Exercise

You must have doggie toys with you but make sure you have those toys too that are interactive and will help your dogs to be physically fit. Not only toys are the best indoor exercise source but also their foods and treats are the best among them. So, bring your dog treats that have puzzles and treasure hunt sort of things so that your dog will have both mental and physical stimulation while staying indoors.

Challenge Your Dog with Hide and Seek

Hide and seek can never get old and you can never get bored of it. Dogs will love to find you and the little peek-a-boo situations make it even more fun. Dogs love attention and love to play with their favorite humans so if you play with them games like hide and seek will not only be challenging for them but will also release hormones that will make them feel better and energize them.

Humans or Dogs, Everyone Loves Tug-of-War

A good tug-of-war will not only keep your dog engaged indoors but also help burn energy and improve muscle strength. Even though it seems like tug-of-war will be tough for your dogs to play, it won’t be. Dogs are one of those animals that love playing and accept challenges passionately. So grab a rope and form a group or maybe just you and your dog and start the tug-of-war right now!

Highly Energized Dogs Need Intense Workouts Like Treadmills

Some dogs are low in energy as they are born, but some dogs have a lot of energy. They will climb up buildings, run around halls, and walk for miles on the road, still being energized and wanting to do more activities. So, staying indoors for such dogs is tough but don’t you worry, you can always engage them with some intense workouts like treadmill workouts where you can start at a slower pace and gradually let them adapt to the faster pace.

Challenge Your Dog Physically and Mentally With Obstacle Course

The obstacle course is one of the best and fun games to make your dogs excited and active. This exercise not only helps stimulate them physically but also mentally, as they have to grow through obstacles to finally reach their destination for which you can also reward them with treats. These obstacles are easy to create at home with chairs, tables, boxes, and cushions from which you can make tunnels and slides and make them jump and climb. So don’t wait and grab stuff to create an interesting and fun obstacle course.
