CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are investigating two robberies and home invasions on the Southwest Side overnight.

Police have not said if the two incidents are related, but they follow a similar pattern. The department said two armed men or young men approached a couple in a car near 62nd and Kolin in West Lawn and robbed them.

Then, they followed them into a home where they tried to take more, but there was a shootout inside. That was just before 1:30 a.m.

About 15 minutes later and 2 miles away, police said two gunmen in a black SUV held up a 17-year-old boy as he was getting out of his car near 59th and Spaulding in Chicago Lawn.

They then followed the teen inside a home and took more.

No one was injured in either case and no one is in custody.
