Ohio State misses out on major five-star recruit that could end up with a Big Ten foe

Ohio State is set to bring in a successful 2025 recruiting class when signing day gets here but it will not include one of their last big targets.

The Buckeyes have four wide receivers committed in this class but have been unable to land a verbal commitment from the top wideout targets in the class. Quincy Porter is the No. 8 wideout in the country and the Buckeyes’ top commitment at the position.

Ohio State had been after five-star wideout Jerome Myles for the last few months but they will not be landing him. Myles had the Buckeyes in his top-five and was set to commit on Oct. 30. Since then, Myles has moved up his commitment date to Sept. 18 and removed the Buckeyes and Georgia from his final schools.

As of right now, the feeling is that Myles very well could end up at USC, one of the new Big Ten opponents for Ohio State. Utah is another school that has a legit shot and Texas A&M is also a finalist.

Myles is a borderline five-star wideout from Utah and is listed at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds. The standout wide receiver brings the size and speed to be a real deep threat and would have been a great add for the Buckeyes.

After bringing in No. 1 overall player Jeremiah Smith and five-star Mylan Graham, the Buckeyes are banking on development more in this class. Porter is joined by four-star wideouts De’Zie Jones and Phillip Bell, as well as three-star wide receiver Bodpegn Miller in this class .

It isn’t a huge miss for the Buckeyes with already four players committed in the class, but anytime you can add a five-star talent at the position that is exactly what you want to do for Brian Hartline. Ohio State very well could have to deal with Myles a bunch over the next few years.
