The 63-year-old comedian noted that she gets to sleep with her “babies,” who are presumed to be her four rescue dogs, and “avoid” Donald Trump supporters who “still feel the need to come up” to her at airports and tell her “how horrible” she is.
Griffin was placed on the no-fly list for two months in 2017 while she was under a federal investigation by the Justice Department for posting a video of herself holding a mask styled to look like the severed, bloody head of the then-president .
Though the “Suddenly Susan” alum initially apologized for the incident , she later said Trump’s “unhinged” behavior justified the controversial image.
“I’m no longer sorry . The whole outrage was BS; the whole thing got so blown out of proportion,” she told Australian morning show “Sunrise” in August 2017.
“So the picture happened, the outrage was ridiculous, I made an apology, and now in light of all the crazy stuff that [Trump] and this administration are doing … he’s unhinged.”
Due to the backlash surrounding the image of the former “Apprentice” host, Griffin said she paid more than $1 million in legal fees, became unemployed and her life started to spiral out of control.
