Trader Joe’s is no stranger to setting a trend, and aside from their endless array of exclusive-to-TJ’s goodies (like outstandingly delish calamari pieces in olive oil ), the fan-favorite retailer is best known for its craze-inducing limited edition tote bags. Not that there’s anything wrong with their standard, instantly identifiable, recyclable paper bags (pro tip: you can use them as gift wrap in a pinch), but there’s something extra special about nabbing one of their enviably iconic reusable totes—if you’re able to get your hands on one, that is.
Sure, you might have to fight your way through a winding queue of hundreds of eager shoppers waiting to get their hands on the last insulated tote —and if you’re dedicated, you might even end up traveling to three different locations in the process. But the thrill of the chase is what keeps us coming back for more, and we do love a good scavenger hunt every now and then.

When it comes to totes, though, we’ve come to realize that not all are created equal. While we love the utility of a seemingly bottomless bag for our inevitable TJ’s grocery hauls, sometimes, a bulky tote bag can get in the way of our painstakingly curated but oh-so-casual outfit. Thankfully, according to Today , Trader Joe’s insanely viral Mini Tote Bags are set to hit stores next week, and some shoppers are already clearing their schedule to be there on September 18 when they drop.

In case you missed it, these ultra-cute miniature canvas tote bags hit stores this past March and instantly sold out causing mass hysteria among shoppers scouring stores to find one. Some stores even reported selling out in as little as 10 minutes! In fact, demand for these limited-run cutesy totes was so high, some locations even had to impose limits on how many shoppers could buy to mitigate the swathes of ravenous consumers clearing stores of what little inventory they had.
After the dust settled, listings for the must-have item began showing up on eBay with an eye-popping markup from $2.99 to a whopping $500. Fortunately, TJ’s tends to increase their inventory when products sell as well as this one, so we hope they’ll have plenty this time around. Judging by the comments though, we’ll be following other shoppers' lead and “getting in line now.”
