Presence Teaser Trailer Previews Steven Soderbergh’s Mysterious Horror Movie

A new Presence teaser trailer is out, previewing the mysterious psychological horror movie from acclaimed director Steven Soderberg .

What happens in the new Presence teaser trailer?

In keeping with the last teaser trailer for the film, the new Presence teaser trailer doesn’t really give away too much of the movie. The brief video pans down over a house, with text on the screen claiming that the house holds things like a family, secrets, “unimaginable acts,” and finally, a presence.

Neon has also announced that Presence will be released in select U.S. theaters beginning on January 17, 2025. An exact release date for a wide release is not yet known.

While not much is known about the plot of Presence, the movie revolves around a family moving into a new house only to discover that there may or may not be a potentially dangerous entity living there. It stars Lucy Liu , Julia Fox , Chris Sullivan, Callina Liang, Eddy Maday, and West Mulholland.

Soderbergh is perhaps best known for making the trilogy of Ocean’s heist movies, which includes 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven, 2004’s Ocean’s Twelve, and 2007’s Ocean’s Thirteen. He’s also directed movies such as 1989’s Sex, Lies, and Videotape, 1998’s Out of Sight, 2000’s Erin Brockovich, 2002’s Solaris, 2011’s Contagion, 2012’s Magic Mike, 2013’s Side Effects, 2017’s Logan Lucky, 2018’s Unsane, 2021’s No Sudden Move, and 2022’s Kimi, among others.

In addition to Presence, Soderbergh has another movie in the works that is titled Black Bag. With the screenplay also written by Koepp, Black Bag is a spy thriller that will star Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris, Pierce Brosnan, and Tom Burke. Black Bag will be released in United States theaters on March 14, 2025, from Focus Features.
