If you’re looking for fun, fall activities, you can warm up on the San Diego coast, where sunsets glow in vibrant autumn colors, temperatures average a pleasant 72 degrees, and three iconic resorts welcome guests for memorable getaways: Bahia Resort Hotel, the ultimate beach playground on Mission Bay; Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa, Mission Bay’s premier Polynesian-style resort, and The Lodge at Torrey Pines, where timeless luxury meets coastal serenity in La Jolla.

Fall into fun with the following top things to do at the resorts, from festive Oktoberfest and Halloween cruises on the bay and a whole month devoted to free offerings for kids, to delectable culinary fetes and sipping soirees.

    Kids’ Stuff

The Bahia and Catamaran resorts will roll out the welcome mat for children aged 12 and under during Kids Free San Diego Month in October. All month long, Oct. 1-31, kids stay, eat, and play for free. Hotel guests who dine at Oceana Coastal Kitchen in the Catamaran Resort or Dockside 1953 in the Bahia Resort can enjoy a complimentary kid’s meal for each paid adult entrée. Additionally, Action Sport Rentals at both resorts is offering kids a free stand-up paddleboard or kayak rental with the purchase of one adult one-hour or longer rental.

Families planning a fall getaway can enjoy big-time savings on guestrooms during Kids Free Month. Book directly with the Bahia or Catamaran resort using exclusive promotion code KIDS24 to receive up to 25% off room rates from Oct. 1-31.

    Savor Fall Flavors

The tables are set for San Diego Restaurant Week, September 22-29. Oceana Coastal Kitchen at the Catamaran, Dockside 1953 at Bahia and The Grill at Torrey Pines are offering curated three-course, prix fixe dinners paired with stunning views of Mission Bay – a perfect opportunity to sample exceptional local cuisine while on holiday. The cost is $50 per person (+$30 for wine pairing and +$35 for cocktail pairing at Dockside 1953). Reservations are recommended for this popular epicurean event.

Making a splash on Mondays (5:30-7 p.m.) at Oceana Coastal Kitchen is the new Maki & Sake Special, featuring a select signature sushi roll and glass of premium all-natural Soto Junmai Sake for $30. To complement its outstanding sushi creations, Oceana also introduces a tasty new sake menu this fall. Dockside 1953 gets into the “spirit” with its new Whisky Barrel Program, featuring a 90-minute, three-course whisky cocktail experience paired with small bites. The cost is $65 per person.

Gourmands can indulge at Chef’s Table on October 18, a new four-course dinner experience at Dockside 1953. Curated by Executive Chef Bryan Stuppy, the dinner takes guests on a journey of textures, colors, and flavors that evoke the essence of the autumn season. Diners can enjoy an expertly prepared feast of fresh seafood, meat, and produce, with optional wine and cocktail pairings.
