During Season 4, Part 2, Emily and the crew took a Roman Holiday in the name of love and career growth, and by the time the end credits roll on Episode 10, “All Roads Lead to Rome,” fans of Darren Star’s dramedy will be craving more of Emily in Paris ‘ signature brand of drama, romance, fashion, and fun.

If you’ve watched the Season 4 finale, you also know that the latest chapter in Emily’s story leaves viewers with several burning questions while perfectly teeing up new episodes. But will Lily Collins and the cast get the chance to return to Paris and Rome to continue their story? Great question!

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Darren Star’s Netflix series has been an undeniable hit since it premiered in 2020 thanks to genuine fans and hate-watchers alike. The streamer shook things up by splitting Season 4 in half, which has been happening with other Netflix hits like Manifest , Virgin River , and Bridgerton . So although Emily in Paris hasn’t been officially renewed by its Season 4, Part 2 premiere day on September 12, the future looks bright for stars and fans alike.

On top of Emily in Paris’ past viewing success, Season 4 also took its main characters to Rome for an exciting new adventure, so between the compelling new location and all of Season 4’s loose ends in need of tying, there’s lots more to explore in the series.

Emily in Paris Season 4, Episode 10 gave the show an entirely new twist by bringing Sylvie and the team to Rome with Emily. And since Mindy broke up with Nico and got disqualified from Eurovision, she decided to run away from reality in Rome as well.

After Sylvie unsuccessfully tried to get a meeting with Marcello by ambushing him and Emily, he ghosted Emily, prompting her to take matters into her own hands. She tracked him down, assured him she wasn’t in Rome for business, and met his mother and the rest of their town. Once Emily immersed herself and learned more about the company, she decided that she couldn’t, in good faith, let them sell out to JVMA without asking for a meeting. When she proposed a plan that could help them keep their business private while still growing, however, Marcello told her she made a mistake coming to Rome with him and sent her away. Thankfully, Marcello’s mother overheard Emily’s offer and agreed to a meeting with Sylvie, so Luc and Julien headed to Rome and the team raced to put together an office and a presentation in 24 hours.

In the midst of all the work chaos, Sylvie reunited with an old flame/teacher who she knew in a former life when she studied cinema in Rome. (The only man her husband’s ever been jealous of!) Meanwhile, Mindy performed an original song, “Beautiful Ruins” in the streets of Rome and woke up to learn she went viral on TikTok and received an invite from “Chinese Popstar” to perform and be a judge. She left for her next adventure, while Emily and team told Marcello and his mom why they should give a French marketing firm a chance. The meeting was tense, but Sylvie convinced them to give the team six months to prove themselves. Naturally, it was time to party!

Back in France, Gabriel received good news from Genevieve as well: He’s getting a Michelin Star after all! (Carmy from The Bear is shaking!) The only problem? Emily wasn’t there to celebrate. While she was toasting to a job well done in Rome and making amends with Marcello, Gabriel was getting kissed by Genevieve. But before things progressed any further, the star-winning chef pulled Genevieve aside and told her he just wants to be friends, then called Emily and left a voicemail to let her know about the star and how grateful he was for her.

In the morning, Emily said goodbye to Marcello — but not for long! Sylvie informed her that she’d be staying in Rome to run Marcello’s account, and though the move would be temporary, Mindy planned to join her after Shanghai. Everyone seemed happy except for Gabriel, who’s heart sunk when he learned Emily was relocating. Our dear sweet Alfie encouraged him to fight for “the greatest girl in the world,” and after listening to a voicemail from Emily IN FRENCH (because she’s trying! ) he knocked on Mindy’s door and asked where exactly Emily was. Little did he know, she was prepping to change her Instagram handle from Emily in Paris to Emily in Rome and step out with her new man, Marcello!

Clearly, we need to see what the future has in store for Emily in Paris faves like Alfie, Luc, Julien, Sylvie, and Mindy after that finale. And we also need to see more of Italy, including how Emily adjusts to business in Rome. Based on that ending, it seems like Gabriel is going to try to win Emily back from Marcello. So more love triangle drama inevitably awaits! It’ll be interesting to see how Emily in Paris shifts between Paris and Rome if there’s a Season 5, and also how it’ll balance various storylines now that physical distance between core characters is a factor. Netflix, we only got a taste of Italy in Season 4, Part 2. So don’t leave us hanging!
