The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 is already one of the top five most-watched shows on Prime Video.

Premiering August 29, the fantasy series has received 40M views in just 11 days, according to numbers shared by Amazon. To put that in context, Fallout hit 65 million viewers in 16 days, while The Boys season 4 reached 55 million across a 39-day period. The first season of The Rings of Power , meanwhile, reached 25 million viewers on its first day.

It’s hard to directly compare Prime Video’s shows given the streamer hasn’t released like-for-like numbers across equal time periods. However, The Rings of Power season 2 is firmly in the top five of Prime Video’s biggest successes. It also says the series has been Prime Video’s overall number one title since it debuted August 29.

Variety obtained an internal memo from Amazon Studios chief Jennifer Salke’s about The Rings of Power ’s viewership which reads, “Through the second weekend of launch, according to our key measures, the series is showing that we have another huge hit season on our hands as 40 million viewers have already watched S2.”

“We have brought a wonderful and timeless story to a new audience,” Salke continues. “I can’t wait to see this momentum build as new episodes continue to drop.” And there might be more seasons coming on top. Not just because The Rings Of Power season 2 introduces the biggest ever troll .

That’s according to the Hollywood Reporter , which writes “after seeing season two’s premiere ratings, sources tell THR the company remains committed to the show’s original five-season plan.” A third season of The Rings of Power is currently been developed, but has not been officially greenlit.
