Women of Wisdom Held 6th Annual First Responders Event on MS Coast

On Monday, September 9th, the Women of Wisdom across the Mississippi coast recognized First Responders with its sixth annual lunch honoring local first responders.

This week, the Women of Wisdom served the community by holding its sixth annual "WOW Honors First Responders" lunch event. Local first responders in Harrison, Hancock, and Jackson counties were all recognized.

According to a social media post from Biloxi Police Department, over 1,000 fire and police stations in over fourteen cities across the Mississippi coast were served a lunch meal Monday.

Meals and gifts were donated by restaurants and food distributors in the area, totaling a contribution of over $60,000.

In addition, students at Hope Academy, North Woolmarket Elementary and Middle School, the Boy’s and Girls’ Clubs, and other schools from Harrison, Jackson, and Hancock counties decorated nearly 2,500 cards for the event.

The Women of Wisdom is a nonprofit Marketplace Ministry, meaning it is a Christian group that sees the community as a part of their mission field.
