Hit a ramp and kick/push to this bit of exciting news. It has been over two decades since the debut of Pro Skater; and the icon himself is working on a little something in order to celebrate in style. Via the Mythical Kitchen Podcast, Tony Hawk reveals that he’s been talking to Activision again ahead of Pro Skater’s 25th anniversary.

Of course, Tony didn’t give anything away. We will all have to sweat it out a little longer before any real intel is dropped. However, it is clear that Tony Hawk at least wants the masses to commence getting excited. And that he plans deliver a project that he can be proud of and that his fans will equally love.

Regarding these new Activision developments, Hawk states,

“I wish I could tell you more, but I can tell you that I’ve been talking to Activision again, we’re working on something.

That is the first time I’ve said anything publicly […] But I think it will be something the fans will truly appreciate.”

Sweet. Plus, there is already evidence that something is truly coming down the pipeline. So then, this isn’t a test, it’s a bonafide confirmation. As TheGamer.com mentions,

“In-line with Tony Hawk’s new claims, the game’s socials were updated earlier this month in liue of the 25th anniversary, so it certainly looks like Activision is ramping up to do something with the series to celebrate.

There hasn’t been a new mainline Pro Skater game in nearly ten years, [however], Four years ago, Vicarious Visions released the critically acclaimed remakes of Pro Skater 1 and 2. Tony Hawk confirmed in 2022 that there were plans for similar remakes of THPS 3 and 4, but when Vicarious was absorbed into Activision, these plans fell apart.

As reported by VGC, Hawk said on Mythical Kitchen that there’s “something” planned for the 25th anniversary this year — which is on September 29, just over two weeks from now. Whether that is a new mainline entry after nine years, another bundle of remakes, or a spin-off is the lingering question.”
