San Diego Coastkeeper’s annual Seaside Soirée is set to dazzle attendees on September 19, 2024, at the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla. The event, presented by the Stiefel Behner Charitable Fund, will run from 6:30 to 9:00 PM, offering a memorable evening with stunning ocean views and interactive sea life exhibits.

Imperial Beach Mayor Paloma Aguirre will be the guest speaker, discussing the ongoing Tijuana River sewage crisis and her collaboration with Coastkeeper to address this pressing issue. Known for her advocacy against cross-border pollution, Aguirre’s insights are anticipated to be a highlight of the evening.

The gala will feature live entertainment from local musicians the B-Side Players, a gourmet dinner with a hosted bar, and opportunities to mingle with fellow supporters of clean water. VIP tickets offer early entry, a Champagne welcome, and premium seating.

Coastkeeper, celebrating nearly 30 years of protecting San Diego’s waters, continues its efforts to tackle water pollution, including legal actions against failing wastewater infrastructure and cross-border collaboration with Mexican counterparts. The Seaside Soirée not only celebrates these achievements but also supports ongoing initiatives to combat the Tijuana River sewage crisis.
