Could Knicks Trade for Pistons Big Man?

Isaiah Hartenstein played a big role for the New York Knicks this past season, but they lost him to the Oklahoma City Thunder in free agency. As a result, the team could be in the market for another big man.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus , he lists one "realistic" trade target for each NBA team. For the Knicks, he thinks they could target Detroit Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart to give them more depth down low.

"The team previously talked to the Utah Jazz about Kessler but didn't find common ground. He's a viable option, but Isaiah Stewart II of the Detroit Pistons may be a natural fit," Pincus writes. "He's about the same height as Achiuwa but has a bigger body. Stewart has a team-friendly multiyear contract, has improved his outside shot and could be part of the return if the Knicks send out Randle."

The team has entertained the idea of playing Julius Randle at the center position this season, but getting another big man to take pressure off of Mitchell Robinson might be a more likely scenario.

Stewart finished this past season averaging just under 11 points and six rebounds per game. He also shot some solid shooting percentages, as he shot 48 percent from the field and 38 percent from three.

If the Knicks decide they want to grab more center depth before the start of the season, trading for Stewart could be a very intriguing option.
