The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer was filming a music video on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Nashville when the two sprang into action, The Tennessean reported .

In footage released by the Metro Nashville Police Department and shared by The Associated Press (which appears to have edited it), a woman stands on the ledge beyond the safety railing. Bon Jovi engages her in conversation and a companion gets closer to comfort the woman. Both help her climb over the railing to safety. Bon Jovi hugs the woman and the three are seen walking away.

“It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,” Metro Nashville Police Department Chief John Drake said in a “shout out” on X to Bon Jovi and his team. The police credited them for persuading her to come off the ledge.

Bon Jovi declined to comment over privacy concerns for the woman in crisis, The Tennessean reported.
