The Pittsburgh Steelers have passed the midpoint of their work week.

With two practices down and one to go before traveling to take on the Denver Broncos, today was always going to be a pivotal day for Russell Wilson if he had any shot at returning to the starting lineup.

Here's what we found out about the QB situation and the rest of the injured players on Thursday:

    Steelers Takeaways:

    • QB Russell Wilson: After Coach Tomlin announced that the team was preparing for Justin Fields to start against the Broncos, it foreshadowed doubt on Wilson's return to the lineup . On Wednesday , Wilson was seen doing some light throwing and movement but that was the extent of his day. On Thursday , Wilson said they he was making all of the required throws, but not running all of the plays needed to fulfill the offense. Assumingly, that means he can't perform the bootlegs and rollouts required of Arthur Smith's offense, and won't play until he can
    • LB Patrick Queen : The star free agent acquisition has had no issues outside of a small ankle injury in camp. A DNP out of nowhere surrounding his groin is worrisome but Friday will be the final determinant
    • LG Isaac Seumalo : Still nursing the strained pec injury, Seumalo did not practice Wednesday or Thursday and is unlikely to contribute this week
    • WR Roman Wilson : The rookie WR was said to increase his participation level this week after being inactive in Week 1. On Wednesday , Wilson was seen running routes in warmups and was listed as a limited participant. On Thursday , Wilson practiced in a full capacity for the first time all camp, which bodes well for his debut on Sunday
    • OT Dan Moore Jr .: After Coach Tomlin announced that Moore had a sore ankle during his weekly presser, the starting LT did not participate and rookie Troy Fautanu took first-team reps at RT on Wednesday , with Broderick Jones playing LT. On Thursday , Moore was a full participant, potentially shaking up the plans for Jones and Fautanu
    • DT Larry Ogunjobi: Ogunjobi will need to be monitored with the knee after a limited participation level on Wednesday . On Thursday , Ogunjobi returned to practice in full capacity
    • CB Darius Rush : Rush is still in concussion protocol but coach Tomlin said he is progressing, with Wednesday and Thursday seeing him participate in limited capacities
